Rechargeable and 12V Electric Paddleboard Pumps

Should I invest in an electric vs manual pump for my inflatable paddleboard is a big question for many paddlers - especially if you are wondering whether or not to put one on your Christmas List.

If you're on Santa's nice list, or you are buying a Christmas present for a paddleboarder who is, then you you are in the right place especially if you want a 10% discount on Outdoor Master pumps with either our coupon code LUUM10 or possibly a higher site special offer on the day.

Purists, of which we used to be one of them, would always say you you should use the manual pump that your board came with.  It gets your arm muscles warmed up and elevates your heart rate getting you ready to get on the water.  The downside with manual pumps is that if you are supplied a single-action low-volume pump with your SUP package the extra pumping required can tire your arms out, take it out of your lower back, and can often be the deciding factor in not going paddling if you weren't 100% in the mood in the first place.

Electric pumps step in to deliver a lot of benefits, mainly doing the hard work for you whilst you faff with the rest of your equipment, hydrate or just smugly watching everyone else sweating it up on their handpump.

You should ensure you are buying the right type, not just the cheapest option you can find.  As a minimum you should be looking for a pump that;

- can be set to the pressure you want to achieve for your board, switched on and then automatically stop when your board is pumped and ready to go

- have a digital read-out of the pressure so you know where your board is at

- be able to achieve the target PSI for your board

- be able to inflate more than one board in a row without overheating
